Who we are

Volt Digital is a web design studio run by Brian, based in Plettenberg Bay, Western Cape, South Africa. We build websites for South African trade businesses — electricians, plumbers, painters and related trades — and work remotely across the country.

The service

We design, build and take live a website for your business. Depending on the plan you choose, that typically includes the website itself, a .co.za domain, a business email address on that domain, hosting, and content updates when your business changes.

We build first. You review a live link on WhatsApp, request changes, and pay only once you approve the site. If you do not approve it, you owe nothing — no deposit, no obligation.

We do not invent testimonials, ratings, certifications or availability. Only real photos and facts you provide (or that are already public about your business) go on the site.

Payment terms

Two ways to pay, both in South African rand. You choose after you have seen and approved the finished site:

• Monthly — R499 per month. Recurring subscription. Includes the website, .co.za domain, business email, hosting and updates. No setup fee. Cancel anytime — see the Refund and Cancellation Policy.
• Once-off — R2,500. A single payment. You own the site outright. .co.za domain and business email are included for the first year. Full build and go-live are included.
• Split payment. On the once-off plan you may split R2,500 into two payments, arranged with Brian on WhatsApp before the first payment is taken. The site is fully paid — and owned outright — only once both payments have cleared.

Card and Instant EFT payments are processed by Payfast. By paying, you confirm you have read these terms and the refund policy. Monthly billing continues until you cancel.

Your responsibilities

To build an honest site we need you to:

• Send your business name, the areas you serve, and photos of your actual work (or confirm we may use photos you already have online).
• Provide accurate contact details — phone, WhatsApp number, and any email you want published.
• Confirm you have the right to use the photos, logos and copy you send us. Do not send other people’s work and ask us to present it as yours.
• Review the preview link and tell us what to change in a reasonable time. We cannot go live on a guess.

If we are waiting on photos or approval, the timeline pauses until you reply. That is not a delay on our side.

Intellectual property

You own your content. Photos, your business name, logos and copy you supply remain yours. We only use them to build and host your site.

Once you have paid (once-off) or while your monthly plan is active, you have the right to use the designed website for your business. The domain is registered in your business name and stays yours — if you leave, it goes with you.

Volt Digital retains the right to display the work in our portfolio and marketing, including volt-digital.co.za, screenshots, and examples we show other trade businesses. If you need that taken down, WhatsApp Brian and we will discuss it.

The underlying layouts, code patterns and design system we reuse across clients remain Volt Digital’s. We are not selling you exclusive rights to the way we build trade sites — we are selling you a site for your business.

Limitation of liability

We take care with the work. A website cannot guarantee jobs, Google rankings, or uptime of services we do not control (Payfast, domain registrars, hosting platforms, WhatsApp, or your own phone).

To the extent South African law allows, Volt Digital is not liable for lost profits, lost leads, or indirect loss. Where we are liable, our total liability is limited to the fees you actually paid us in the 12 months before the claim (monthly plan) or the R2,500 once-off fee.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that South African law does not allow us to exclude — including for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 that cannot be contracted out of.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. If we cannot resolve a dispute on WhatsApp first (see the Refund and Cancellation Policy), it may be taken to the South African courts.

Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page is the current version. Material changes will be raised with active monthly clients on WhatsApp. Continued use of the service after an update means you accept the new terms.
