Who we are

Volt Digital builds websites for South African trade businesses. We are based in Plettenberg Bay, and we are responsible for the personal information described on this page.

What we collect

• From the pricing form: your business name, your phone number and the plan you picked. Nothing else is asked for.
• If you message us on WhatsApp: your number and the messages you send, so we can reply.
• If you pay: Payfast sends us a payment confirmation with the amount, a reference, and the name and email address you gave Payfast.
• If you accept analytics cookies and arrive through a referral link (a “Site by Volt Digital” link on one of our client sites): the referral code, your IP address and your browser type, so we know which client sent you.
• Your cookie choice (accept or decline), saved in your own browser.

We never see your card or bank details. You pay on Payfast’s own pages, and Payfast does not pass card details to us.

Why we use it

To build the site you asked for and to talk to you about it on WhatsApp: sending you the finished site, making changes, and sorting out payment if you go ahead. Payment confirmations keep our billing records straight. Referral records tell us which client sites send visitors our way.

No marketing lists. We do not sell, rent or trade your information to anyone.

Where it is stored

Form details, payment confirmations and referral records are kept in our database on Supabase, a hosted database service. When someone sends the pricing form, Telegram sends us a notification containing the business name and phone number, so we can reply quickly. WhatsApp messages stay in WhatsApp.

Supabase and Telegram run on servers outside South Africa. Access to these records is limited to Volt Digital.

How long we keep it

We keep your details while your enquiry is open or while you are a client. Ask us to delete them and we will, unless the law requires us to keep a record, such as payment records for tax.

Your rights under POPIA

You can ask us:

• what personal information we hold about you, and for a copy of it
• to correct anything that is wrong
• to delete it
• to stop using it (you can object to the processing)
